To cut a long story short, after being transferred back and forth at least 4 times, Avios agreed to review my case and eventually credited the points 'As a good will gesture' - goodness knows how it was a goodwill gesture when I'd fulfilled their terms and conditions! Lloyds proved to be very helpful and confirmed it wasn't unusual for Avios to fail to credit the voucher, and furthermore Lloyds dealt with numerous complaints about it due to the 'vague at best' Avios terms and conditions. Luckily this wasn't a bad thing, despite the initial surprise of the Lloyds agent in regards to how I had obtained the number.
